Skype continue to dig his way through social networking. Not in the US, already too crowded, neither in the UK, Bebo is already done… In France.
Yesterday, it announced a deal with TF1, which is just the largest private-sector broadcast channel of the country and one of the biggest in Europe.
The partnership is part of the TF1’s ambitious plan to built a French MySpace. These days, the broadcast channel launched a community site called WAT (short for We Are Talented). Skype should power the voice-enabled toolkit.
TF1 doesn’t hide the eventual scenario of bridging its community site with some broadcast programs. For instance, the better bands will play on television, says Futura Sciences. For the record, TF1 hosts Star Academy, the cousin program of American Idol, for several years.
