NTT DoCoMo will launch dual-mode cellphones for businesses in Japan. The biggest cellphone local carrier hooked up with Cisco, which inked its second major deal after the recent one with Nokia.

The offering combines DoCoMo’s N902iL FOMA phone with Cisco’s Unified CallManager and corporate WiFi networking gear, enabling a single-number access, a single office voice mailbox, Mobile Voice Access and other mobile application capabilities for business users, says the release.

For Unstrung, “The move makes sense for Cisco. Along with Avaya Inc. it’s driving the enterprise VOIP market, so it’s logical to see the IP giant move into the mobility sector.”
