Skype CEO, the “Phenomenon of year”… in Poland

This is Poland awards. Well, this is not that small. Look at the famous Polish in History: Lech Walesa, Nobel Prize in Literature; George Charpak (French but born in Poland) honored in Physics; Maria Curie (again French but). This time, it’s Niklas Zennström to be “Phenomenon of the Year”. One noticeable fact: Zennström is not Polish.
The Skype CEO was awarded by Przekrój magazine, described as one of the most influent in this Eastern Europe country by Jaanus from the Skype blog. The decoration come for his major achievement ― you already know what it is: “for his invention that has revolutionized the social life and the corporate world.”
Did he make funny jokes during his speech?
No, because he wasn’t there. That was Michal, the Skype guy in Poland, who grabbed the trophy instead ― he swore to bring it to him. But Zennström did record a speech, aired during the ceremony.
Are we taking some bet? Next time, where would you think Zennström will be honored? Sweden for the Nobel Prize of VoIP? At least, his mother may see his big son if that happens.
