Yahoo! Mobile UI redesigned, really?

Yahoo! Mobile gets a makeover of its user interface. The truth is: You won’t distinguish the new design from the old one. Just few details were introduced.

Useless, blunt? For MobileCrunch (which has screenshots), if you want to find where are the biggest changes, count the number of steps are required to complete an action.

“Most visible of the changes, contacts are now front and center when entering the application (instead of the old version’s links to contacts that necessitated at a minimum one to two additional pages being loaded to get where you wanted to go). Additionally, the full complement of a contact’s details are displayed with just one click instead of requiring multiple clicks to see things like secondary phone numbers, addresses and important details like birthdays and anniversaries.”

We hope that one day, Y! Mobile users would be able to design their own set of macros. Just like in Photoshop, OpenOffice, or Firefox, you would create hotkeys and combo-keys to trigger a series of action within a snap.
