Quietly launched in late November 2006, Yahoo! group text messaging service Mixd has closed. “The Mixd pilot study ended on February 25th, and the service will no longer be available,” we can read on the web site.
Yahoo told Read/WriteWeb they will incorporate group text messaging and multimedia sharing features into future Yahoo! mobile products.
Us: Recently, Google Talk unveiled a feature that Y! might retake for the future version of Mixd. GTalk users can update their Twittr ‘tumblelog’ through their GTalk client by writing a message to a bot or robot. A tumblelog could be considered a low-effort mini-blog or merely like a “[Google’s] Dodgeball for people who don’t go out,” says Frog Design.
