Yahoo on Hutchinson 3G Mobiles

A short one. Yahoo Mobile is becoming ubiquitous ― one mobile operator at a time. The Hutchinson 3 Group today announces an agreement with Yahoo for rich content on 3G mobile phones.

The services Yahoo! Messenger, Search, Mobile Web, Mail, and Go for Mobile would be available worldwide. MocoNews indicates it will start within the United Kingdom and that the available services could vary by country.

No word have been said on eventual voice functionalities of the Yahoo Messenger. And there should not be. As at the last 3GSM conference in Barcelona, Spain, Hutchinson and Skype hooked up together.

  • hi Nuno! Does this means we can call 3G phones using YM?

  • #3 Nuno:
  • Abi, that’s it. It means a Y! Messenger user can IM on a 3G cellphone only if Y! Messenger is installed. No voice feature been confirmed yet. And for price rate, Yahoo warns cellphone users to look at their mobile operator conditions.

  • NUno, is Content Scrambling System (CSS) software can be apply in VCD or CD?

  • #5 Nuno:
  • Sparta, I’m quite surprise of what you’re asking me. Because it’s so way out of topic.

Anyway, here’s a piece of answer. Isn’t the Content Scrambling System for securing DVDs? (Securing until DVD Jon hacked it.) So I guess you could use it both on CD and VCD.
