Windows Live struck its first deal with a computer maker

Certain Microsoft Windows Live will be prelaunched on Lenovo’s ThinkPad notebooks, ThinkCentre desktops and Lenovo-branded PCs. While it might be surprising, it is the first deal Microsoft has struck with a computer maker to pre-load the Windows Live Toolbar on PCs.
The Windows Live Toolbar gives consumers one-click access to Live Search, which enables category searches such as Web, news, images and immersive maps to help them find what they are looking for, says Microsoft.
Last year, Google has been striking similar OEM deals for its Web services, including an agreement with Dell Computer. So far, Windows Live has had little success, and revenue for its online services business remained flat in its last fiscal year.
