WiFi routers, as cheaper as a sandwich in 2007

The price of wireless routers are dropping rapidly and paying $5 a WiFi router will certainly become the kind of deal we’ll see more often. There are still some rebates to consider, but now an eHome wireless router that supports the 802.11 b and g WiFi standard, can be grabbed for $5 at CompUSA online store (pictured).

VoIP cordless phone makers like Belkin or SMC, which both bank on the emergence of WiFi phones, would likely partner some router manufacturers to increase the consumers adoption. Last year, Fon, the Spanish turned international wireless network, has practiced this kind of cheap price for several months. And since recently, it started to promote a calling plan including Skype. Even though Seeking Alpha wrote 10 pessimistic predictions for this new year, at this pace, 2007 will crown the end of wires.
