Wengo to rely its development on students

Here’s a new buzzword for you, contest sourcing. It looks like every softphone manufacturer is going contest sourcing, holding a “Bot contest” for Windows Live, or a “DevCon” for Skype or “Widgets Toolkit” if you’re Yahoo.

France-based Wengo brings out the “Code camp“. Basically, it’s student sourcing. The idea looks nothing but like an internship program for 16 beautiful minds willing to code new open source module for the Wengo voice client.

As its competition, Wengo won’t pay those attendants a lot ― 3500 euros for the best of the program. But the company picks the official mentors, so if you do decide that your future life will be closely tied to the Open World and computers, go ahead, drop your application.
