Ask the readers: Should 21talks run for the Webby Awards?

A piece of news from us. A couple of days ago, 21talks has been contacted by Jenny Chang, from the Michael Kaminer PR, the agency behind the Webby Awards. As she recalls it, the Webby Awards have been considered by the NY Times as the “online equivalent of the Oscars.”
She told us about our possible nomination for the Webby Awards, in the telecommunications category. Wow, exciting.
But it’s only the beginning of the journey, because, after saying that, we figured out that we need to register for the competition. The entrance ticket is something around $200. And other contestants just are Nokia, Orange and other big names. So we don’t expect any chance to get some prizes.
That’s the reason we ask this question: Did somebody get the same kind of email? Does anybody have some experience of the Webbies? Should we run for them? Do Webbies contestants have something in return?
Tell us.

You should get a good bit of traffic from it? Go for it! I’ll vote for you!
I guess so, Ewan. Otherwise, it’s quite expensive to potentially be invited to the soiree. :) We’re still in deliberation.
