VoIP on EV-DO: A new milestone

Qualcomm opens the broadband telephony era on 3G mobile with a milestone: Making this damn good SIP protocol working over EV-DO.

To make it short, EV-DO or evolution-data optimized is the 3G technology put on steroids. Many CDMA mobile phone service has already adopted the wireless broadband data standard, like Motorola, Sprint, or Vodafone.

Qualcomm also claims that if they can do VoIP right now, services like push to talk, video calling, and conference calling are right away on its roadmap. Which we take for grant as the race for mobile IPTV has already started.
