Two SMS services aiming MySpace teens

It seems that an ecosystem is bubbling up around MySpace social network and its teen members.

  • TxtDrop.com offers a widget that allows MySpace users and bloggers to receive text message from their readers. The service, currently in beta and expected to debut in next September, might have send over 30,000 free SMS. Sounds nice, doesn’t it? But it does only work for US and Canada phone numbers.
  • Q121.com is another new social networking site for cell phones. The business model is simple: Music and video could be uploaded for free from the cellphone to the private space, downloading cost $2 for each piece of content. Members can text message friends and groups anonymously with their special member ID, although the service might be charged.

It looks like the next bubble isn’t Web 2.0 anymore but Mobile++.
