Telefonica gets ready for the 50Mbps broadband access

Telefonica will provide some very high speed broadband access in Spain. Up to 50 Mbps downlink and 10 Mbps uplink, using the Very high bit-rate DSL technology (VDSL). The type of Internet access would be restricted to major cities of the country, said BlogTelecom, and could be used for a next triple-play offer (Internet access, Internet telephony, and Internet television).
Up to now, France, known as the best country of the European Union with DSL offers, has its average DSL bandwidths between 20-28 Mbps downlink and 1-4 Mbps uplink. This could lead to another war of price over the broadband connexion.
