Stealing a phone can get you into Flickr

Stealing someone’s cellphone is bad. But stealing a developer’s phone is worse. Dutch blogger Martijn van Es got his portable device stolen. Prior to this incident, he programmed/locked his device to use the free mobile photo-sharing service Shozu to automatically upload to his Flickr account any photos taken on that phone.

After his phone was stolen, pictures stolen by thieves began appearing on Flickr, and according to E-Media Tidbits, a sort of national hunt has started, until the phone was returned to its rightful owner. More on van Es’ blog, if you read some Dutch.

As cellphones turn into open source mobile computers, there will be much more possible practical hacks.
