Stanford University to investigating on mobile persuasion

Social networking, which co-fueled the emergence of Web 2.0 ― tagging is the other source ―, is helping Mobile++ become a reality. At some points, Stanford paves the way.

BJ Fogg, who runs the Persuasive Technology Lab at Stanford University, will be teaching a Stanford course this fall on captology and mobile persuasion.

“We’ll investigate how mobile phones can change what people believe and what they do,” he wrote on the lab blog. “To my knowledge, this is the first university course to focus on this topic.”

That doesn’t mean Fogg will teach how to become a guru with a mobile phone, but at least could help marketers and designers find new ways to use social interaction on cellphones.
