Sony relaunches its Mylo (short for “My Life Online”) portable multimedia device with just everything you need. The mandatory basics: MPEG-4 player, digital audio, pictures. But also the top-notch features: WiFi connection, Opera browser, Google Talk, Yahoo! Messenger and Skype for VoWAN calls.

In short, Sony is taking by surprise both Apple and Microsoft. But the truth is, Sony should be considered as an elegant answer to the Nokia 770; Just like the open source Internet Tablet, Mylo doesn’t provide cellular connectivity.

Here’s a short video, directed by Gizmodo, which shows the device in action and motion.
