Softbank denying a deal with Apple

This weekend, again, there was plenty of noise on the Apple iPhone. The Japanese Nihon Keizai Shimbun Saturday Morning edition brought out the story on Friday, giving two days for everyone to rave.
In brief: Apple is working on the iPhone with Softbank Corp., the Japanese bank that acquired Vodafone Japanese unit from the British mother ship.
We decided to not give an echo to this rumor. But today, Softbank turns down the rumor. “The source is not us. We have nothing to say about it,” according to Engadget Japan. This is the first time in the iPhone buzz campaign that a player steps out. Does this mean something?
