Skype 2.5: The future webradio software

Coast to coast. Just right after Gizmo newly 500 people conference call feature, Skype will pitch the version 2.5 of its voice client today (May 3, 2006). The new release will provide Skypecast, a 100 people conference call feature that include moderation. The word might be not too big: With Skype and Gizmo providing such a functionality, the capacity of VoIP has just doubled. Skypecast (possibly short for Skype podcasting) just expands the broadcasting limit online, topping webradio tools.
For example, imagine that political meeting will appear online. Or that the next George W. Bush’s rival for US presidency would start tickling America’s public opinion with a live debate the Internet.
The new release is expected to appear by late afternoon, Greenwich or UK time. Windows users can already access the new package, here. We have to figure out if Skypecast will also broaden the limit of Skype video conferencing. SixApart, the weblog software smith, has partnered Skype to pilot the testings.
