Skype, connecting PayPal, collecting money

PayPal has made its way through Skype. Now, two new functionalities expanded the user interface: sending and requesting money.
The screenshot showed on Skype Journal just confirmed what eBay has already unveiled during this week’s press day: Getting the mother ship and the two destroyers to work more closely together.
So far, this first move is about a shortcut move; Paypal users could access the two main functions sitting on Skype. We’d like to see more PayPal-Skype integration, for instance, buying SkypeOut minutes with the Paypal account, asking for Skype first-time users if they’d like to open a PayPal simultaneously.
According to Piper Jaffray analyst Safa Rashtchy, interviewed by Forbes, PayPal and Skype are expected to not only sustain but improve eBay long-term growth. Over the next five years to be precise.
But in the short term, most analysts just consider that eBay’s core businesses are maturing, while eBay/PayPal/Skype triangular synergies are elusive. They also forecast that PayPal and Skype would only a minor impact on eBay’s bottom line in the near term.

convergence like this is what going on the internet is about. Why should we be worried about nitty gritty things when they can just add in functions like this. Kudos to Skype and Paypal
Yup, that’s right. Hope they’ll drop more Paypal functionalities in the Skype. But if they decide to go with those two, this won’t harm their business.
