Skype, still more ubiquitous in the waves, but…

Up to now, Skype was lacking an important piece of its wireless puzzle: A partnership with a big wireless provider, in order to boost the adoption of its Skype-certified WiFi handsets. But it found it.
Skype and British hotspot network The Cloud have closed a deal this week. The Cloud customers would soon be able to access their Skype account through the SMC Network slick handset.
The Cloud network is around 8500 hotspots wide across Europe. But not every one would take advantage of this, as: 1) Hotspots are essentially located in downtown area or business area, as the City, the financial block in London; 2) That the handset costs around $290, 3) That call plans start at around $13, plus the WiFi access which costs around $18 monthly.
