Skype roundup: iSkoot debuts, Voicekey adapter

Two new ways have been added to make Skype more “persistent”.
- Our regular readers already met iSkoot, the cousin of EQO. Both share the same bottom line: Cellphone users could call Skype users and make SkypeOut calls at low rate. No PC needed. No special hardware. No 3G. No WiFi. Just the iSkootMobile application to install on your Java-enabled cellphone. iSkoot lately inked an agreement with Skype.
- Outside the cellphone world, you can use the VIVO VoiceKey, a small USB in which you plug your standard phone to start Skype phone calls. And bingo: The device could manage 9 calls at the same time, and up to 5 in a conference call.
