Want a proof of Skype’s popularity? Go on PixMania.com, then click on any European country of your choice. It doesn’t matter. All of the PixMania websites have included the new section “Telephony” which features Skype. Not voice over the Internet, nor voice client, only Skype software and accessories.
This privilege to the king was part of the deal the two companies have contracted. PixMania could claim it is the first online retail outlet to embed Skype in its catalog. How neat, and Skype quietly and exclusively reaches 4 more million users in Europe.
So far, the shop corner is, like, minimalistic: Only 14 headsets, 7 webcams, 8 USB handsets, 2 VoIP kits. No PSTN adapters, no DECT cordless phones, no dual-mode mobile phones… We hope that Skype will certify more products, otherwise PixMania won’t get that richer.
