Skype for Mac: Caution on the new video feature
“We know that you’ve been waiting… and waiting… and waiting… so we’ve decided to release video early as a preview version,” says the Skype official blog. So, although it’s just an update that brings video to the softphone, the last release of Skype for Mac thrilled cohorts of Mac aficionados as if it was Skype version 3.
But after saying this, hey, do you know that Skype for Mac has gained an eye?!
Try it with caution. The change log tells awful bugs. “CPU load is very high when in a video call.” So you can’t simultaneously start a BitTorrent download and a Skype video call. For those who are stuck in the very first step of the video conference, “Skype has to be restarted in order to detect a new camera.” And least but not last, “problems when video preferences are opened during a video call.”
