No lawsuit for Skype, but eBay might pay twice

Is eBay the biggest looser of the lawsuit that StreamCast threw to Skype’s and Kazaa’s faces? You know, the most discussed lawsuit that personally involved their founders, Zennstrom and Friis? The racketeering accusation?

Well, the defendants prefer to settle the case. Sherman Networks confirmed the Zennstrom’s and Friis’ contribution to a payout of well above $100 million (via Reuters.) This means, Zennstrom and Friis will use part of the Skype buyout to stop the charges against them. Why not, after all, they sold Skype for $2.6 billion.

In such a situation, eBay will pay twice for the lawsuit. Two months after accusing Skype, Streamcast Networks added eBay in its company black list.
