Ask Samuel L. Jackson to call your friends

Here’s a viral marketing technique: Two voice clips of Samuel L. Jackson are hitting the blogosphere. The first tells you to go see Snake on Plane ― the new movie in which he’s acting. The second tells your friend to go see the movie too.

The first is easy to air. But the second invites you to type in your friends’ name and let Samuel L. Jackson saying it out loud when he calls your friends. You could try it here.

We tried it. And although Samuel doesn’t know enough of the international name to pronounce them, the cool feature developed by VariTalk, an audio technology start-up, sounds very promising and highly viral.

Now, what would be really viral would provide a web service to bloggers. And even if sending the piece of audio to phones is cool, people should also be able to send it over VoIP telephones and softphones ― much much cheaper than on mobile phones.
