Italy has the Word Cup trophy (yeah, we won our bet), is a great nation for mobile phones and about to get its UMA phone. Samsung announces its first model to be available in the boot-shape country.
For those who are unsure about Unlicensed Mobile Access (UMA), the technology aims to provide an access for mobile users to GSM voice and data services over their broadband connections in homes or free hotspots.
So when a WiFi hotspot is at reach, the Samsung’s UMA Phone can switch from the traditional cellular networks to the VoIP mode. Users can then make free or insanely cheap phone calls, short and long distance.
The P200 also comes in a sophisticated slide-up design as well as cutting-edge features including 1.3 mega pixel camera, a camcorder, multimedia messaging system (MMS), MP3 and file viewer functions.
