At Roll-Royce, IP telephony is the next luxury

Rolls-Royce Motors is the icon brand for luxurious cars. That said, the company is also synonymous of the old-fashioned classy car maker for the Queen of England. But now, RR is convoking its technology update, spending $20 million to embrace voice over IP technologies.

Nortel will be responsible for the deployment of the infrastructure and systems, according to Silicon.com. The upcoming system will provide VoIP telephony, fax and email services, and some other voice related mobility services.

Roll-Royce joins other car makers like the Scion Fuse that integrated VoIP features in their new car models.
