France ISP Neuf Cegetel welcomed a Linux dual-mode mobile phone, called Twin, that made a very good impression to Mobinaute.com magazine (in French). Linux Devices has been interested in it, as the Twin is the first phone to operate on a Linux 2.6.10 operating system.

“Mobinaute.com describes the process of configuring the Twin for voice-over-IP (VoIP) use as simple and rapid. The phone comes with five profiles that enable it to be used with “NeufBox” wireless access points, or with WiFi hotspots operated by Neuf and its various partners.”

The Twin should support the Fon wireless network, that Neuf Cegetel partnered in a recent deal. Recently, several mobile manufacturer and vendors teamed up together to develop a Linux OS for their future mobile phone models.
