Until now, Opera Mini simply was been the sister version for cellphones of the web browser, which can handle web browsing but provides restricted capacities. Now, its recently released version 2.0 confirmed the Opera strategy to become ‘the’ selling platform for ringtones and multimedia mobile contents (’moco’).

For instance, Opera Mini skips the ordering short text message and its confirmation. This is one small step yet very important one in the buying ringtones process. Just like the Amazon One-click-buying service.

The m-browser has been also granted the right to download rich media files, such MP3 and images. Something, according to PCWorld, it couldn’t do before.

But describing Opera is like telling the story of a Lilliputian facing the Gulliver’s human world. Opera is such a small player compared to Internet Explorer or Firefox. Although, by providing a faster and secure way to access mobile content, the browser has its chances to quickly seize the mobile phone market before the coming of those two big guys.

Jajah has already teamed the browser company in order to entire the mobile phone market. Imagine if Opera could contract a partnership with Helio? MySpace members would then use the m-browser to access their social online life.
