N95, the Nokia answer to iPhone

It seems it’s easier for cellphone manufacturers to go iPod, than computer makers to go cellphone. At least, for Nokia. The Finnish company debuts its N95 phone with a 5 megapixel camera, 8GB hard SanDisk hard drive and video supports. It’s also the last model of the popular N-series (10 million sold this year, reports Red Herring)
The release is an answer to recent Apple moves: a revamp version of iPod Nana which reached the 8GB hard drive level, and iTunes videos. Nokia catch up by unveiling the Nokia Open Studios, its web site for videos.
But the roll-out could also be considered as the first model combining great connectivity and VoIP indirect support. The N-series integrates WiFi connectivity and run on Symbian. VoIP features aren’t native, but VoIP services like Jajah takes advantage of this OS.
Before Microsoft, still unclear about VoIP functionalities, and Apple, not expected to roll out its device before January 2007, the NPhone is already here.
