No phone number, no bank service

Banks might be reluctant to VoIP systems. Not only because of the vishing calamity that is on the rise according to security companies. But also due to the bank inability to get a phone number.
“Customer service told me they had put a hold on the account last night due to a unknown number that called in. They asked what number I called from, and I explained I thought I called from my voip (internet) phone, and it didn’t have a number. They told me the system flagged the account automatically, because it looked suspicious. Pretty smart I guess.”
Brian Youngblood, who shared his experience on his blog, said he used the SkypeOut service, that provides free calls from PC-to-landlines and -mobiles for North American residents.
