News Corp. no-noes any purchase of Telecom Italia

The case busted out the last weekend. Telecom Italia is considering selling its mobile unit, most probably in order to buy video broadband content from Fox TV, part of the News Corp. Well, News Corp. denies any deal in that direction, reports Reuters.
“I would say that, not necessarily forever, but there is no possibility we’d purchase a stake in Telecom Italia,” Peter Chernin, chief operating officer of News Corp., told investors at the Merrill Lynch media conference. “It’s not something we’re doing, it’s not something we’re talking about.”
That doesn’t keep the Italian press from speculating on the eventual sellout. And doesn’t calm Italian labor organizations at all.
