NetGear said it, now it does it. The wireless device manufacturer, a couple of months ago (see Video WiFi by NetGear), announced some new WiFi equipment around second quarter of 2006. And look what NetGear brings out: a brand new toy, exploiting the 802.11n standard.

For the record, the 802.11n standard is on the paper three to six times faster than a regular 100 Mbps Ethernet cable, up to 600 Mbps. Video and video games are two of the de facto applications.

The new series of equipments include routers, switches, PCMCIA cards, PCI adapters, in short, everything to yield an entire wireless environment. The hardware technology, logically dubbed NetGear RangeMax Next, is an enhancement of the NetGear RangeMax, built for the 802.11 b/g standards.

D-Link also unveils some new gears compatible with the 802.11n. They’re called the RangeBooster N650 line and are available for pre-order.
