MySpace in talks to land in China

For past recent months, MySpace has extended its tentacles to Japan, and across Europe. It’s looking to do in China. The social network owned by Rupert Murdoch’s company News Corp. would be in talks with IDG’s Chinese venture arm and former China Netcom Group Corp. Chief Executive Edward Tian, according to people close to the situation.
Rupert Murdoch’s wife, Wendi Deng (in picture) might also be part of the board of MySpace China. But it’s not a surprise; she already went there to scout out some potential partners, reported Business Week in September. And the WSJ adds “the Murdochs are also friends of Mr. Tian”.
Two months ago, MySpace has been rumored to be in talks with China Mobile, a local mobile carrier serving some 250 million customers.
