VoIP spreading across Europe: Mobiboo in the UK, Fon in Poland

Good day for the VoIP in Europe. Mobiboo is launching its service in the UK with two devices, the WiFi clamshell WiFi handset UTStarcom F3000 and a PC phone. You get one phone number, available whenever you’re talking in front of your computer or with your wireless phone. Mobiboo has also partnered with The Cloud, a European hotspot provider, which recently gained the right to blanket the City.

Meanwhile, Martin Varsavsky announces that Fon, its WiFi network company, has inked a deal with Onet, a major ISP in Poland. Under the partnership agreement, Onet will cross-promote Fon routers in its upcoming Wifi network. Onet subscribers automatically become Fon members and are able to surf for free on all Fon community access points.

  • well, I got myself a Mobiboo phone yesterday and it’s very impressive. i actually got a call from their customer services people about an hour after opening the box and switching it on just to make sure that it had arrived safely and that i could work it ok … the man i spoke to was in england as well not bloomin India or somewhere - what a difference to dealing with TalkTalk a rubbishy british home phone service provider. well i hope mobiboo does well and more people get it so we can all talk mobile free. • Sandra, couldn’t agree more .. what a shower talktalk areally are. I queued for over an hour yesterday as they still haven’t installed my broadand .. 28 weeks i have been waiting and when i call, India, telling me to be patient and not use profanity .. I’ll give them bloody profanity. they are all rubbish, you are right. I see that Mobiboo offers broadband in Gloucestershire … I don’t think Glasgow’s near Gloucester is it? I did get Mobiboo Dashboard off their webiste and it’s surprisingly good and very easy to set up … which I wasn’t expecting and within like 10 mins of downloading it I got an instant message from customer services checking everything was ok and asking if i needed any help … i can’t bememebr BT or talktalk doing this and O2 only ever phone me when i’m abroad to make sure i pay their roaming charges … mobiboo when i next go abroad, you’re coming too babe xxxx
