A catch-up for yesterday. We’re really sorry for the lack of posting; our router isn’t still fully recovered. Many disconnections and many reboots happened. It seems to do better today, hopefully.

  • Microsoft should enter the VoIP market in early 2007, said Steve Ballmer. This decision is to be considered at a business level, and at the video conference level more precisely. The company, through Ray Ozzie governance, has inked video conference systems in its roadmap. We’re looking for some boom-boom announcements. Currently, VoIP calling is possible through its instant messenger and through business partners like Verizon.

  • In India, Yahoo has now a clear highway to VoIP. That implies of course IP telephony and also more voice-based services, such as e-learning.

  • Samsung has a toy to show off (pictured). The ‘Mobile Intelligent Terminal’ supports the burgeoning WiMax technology, works as a mobile phone, and can access the Internet, make video phone calls and display television or video. It will be available by early 2007 to Korean markets, and later next year in North America.
