Okay, it’s not a student who piggy developed this newly launched IM web platform called Kool IM. It’s bigger than this. “It has been a few months working on the front end client and close to four years working on the back end,” reminds Samer Bazzi on the BuddyStream company weblog.

As competitors, Kool IM provides an all-in-one instant messenger than can be triggered from their website. As competitors, it targets those who can’t download, who don’t know how to download, who are fed up with standalone applications.

And guess what? It’s working. At least, for one of those platforms, eBuddy, which according to Techcrunch, might be profitable. But one success venture equals a bunch of failures? Remember GTalkr, which closed its doors before going out of its beta state.
