A California startup Jaxtr introduces an exciting Click-to-call widget for bloggers. It can be embed on social networking and blogging services, including MySpace, Blogger, Wordpress and others. Visitors will be able to click on a Jaxtr link, enter their own phone number, which triggers an instant call to their phone. Callers then speak phone to phone — for free. Jaxtr users can also add a personalized Jaxtr link to their email signature file.
“When users provide their Jaxtr link to global friends and family, they also enable them to receive a special phone number in their own country that eliminates international phone charges, including calls placed from mobile phones”, says the release. “When their friend dials this special number provided by Jaxtr, the call gets seamlessly routed to the phone of the friend who sent them their Jaxtr link.”
The service does look like SnapVine, another startup providing a widget allowing Internet users to audio comment on blogs. But Jaxtr is more international, provides local phone numbers from any of 29 national markets in Europe, the Americas and Asia. Initial countries include the United States, most of Western Europe, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Japan and Singapore.
Jaxtr, founded by Phillip Mobin and Touraj Parang, who is also a Amidzad partner, has already attracted Konstantin Guericke co-founder of business social networking site LinkedIn, to become the chief executive of the company. The final release should be sometime in early January 2007.
