Jajah, rich again, tackles South East Asia

UPDATE (April 24, 2006) ― According to the San Fransisco Business Times, Jajah secured $5 million.
Whenever we’ve got enough money, we immediately pack and take the first flight to get far far from our office. With Jajah, it’s the same kind of figure. Each time the half-European half-American start-up grabbed some fundings from a venture capital firm, it goes in another continent.
The last time, it was Sequoia Capital that brought Jajah in the Silicon Valley. This time, it’s Globespan Capital that leads the VoIP start-up to South-East Asia.
The amount of the investment has not been disclosed. But, as it claims in the today’s press release, Jajah also expects to bounce on Globespan Capital network to beef up its presence in Japan, South Korea, China and India.
That wouldn’t be a bad decision. Western companies are said to ignore quite a lot on South East market competition. Who could tell for example that Skype, when they teamed with Tom Online, has partnered one of the most powerful Asian telco? That’s exactly what Jajah need to figure out before threatening Skype over there.
