Jajah: 1 million customers by year end

Jajah has something that let you chew about. Started in Luxembourg, now based in California, the VoIP service provider claims its customer base will reach the 1-million milestone by year end.

Compared to Skype, it’s just a drop, 120 million (claimed) Skypers against 1 million Jajahers. But Jajah claims that it will reach 1 million paying customers, which is far more interesting. Even if the provider takes one more month to reach this milestone, Jajah could brag; it raised above the competition in the tough VoIP arena, partially thanks to the $6 million Sequoia Capital and Globespan Capital poured in the company.

Anyway, the company is ‘very’ confident. Its mobile client isn’t doing bad at all; 20,000 downloads since its launch on late September. And following the last survey done by Harris Interactive, in the next months, mobile calls outnumber landline phone calls in America.
