Jabbin reached the 2.0 version

Remember Jabbin? The open source voice client developed on the Jabber platform? The first release candidate of the version 2.0 has integrated the Libjingle library and could now connect to Google Talk.

Among the new features, making phone calls through SSL is now supported. And last piece of news: a plugin for Wordpress blogging solution has been also aired since two months.

If the Jabbin community keeps the good work, there’s slightly a chance to see web-based multi-protocol IMs like Meebo providing free PC-to-PC calls to their users. In this case, Google Talk could loose its shininess.
