Cisco wants the IPhone to iPhone interoperability

On Flickr, people are exchanging the iPhone. Not the really, a representative picture to print, cut and mount oneself to get a paper iPhone. Just to patient six more months. In the business life, it’s not that fun. Apple sued by Cisco. The WSJ in a today’s write-up explains how and why Cisco went to court against Apple, not for money, but for the interoperability of the same-named handhelds.

For its part, Apple has at least two counter tactics. One: Try to show Cisco didn’t adequately use or protect the iPhone trademark. Two: Convince the judge that Apple iPhone means cellphone, whereas Cisco iPhone means VoIP Skype phone, and that no confusion could be introduced in the consumers’ mind. To follow this scenario, Cisco iPhone might also bump into another iPhone, used by US VoIP provider Nuvio for its Internet telephony service.
