The Apple iPhone enigma might be solved next week, at the MacWorld conference. Many experts think so, the Pipper Jaffray consultancy, Needham’s consultant Charles Wolf who expected an unlocked iPod cellphone, or again Shaw Wu, the American Technology Research. One rumor said Spanish telecoms company Telefonica and Steve Jobs will meet soon to discuss media distribution and the iPhone.

But on top of that, we retain the column published in the Guardian and written by David Sobotta, the federal sales manager at Apple. At 99%, he anticipates the iPhone to be showcased. For him, the “Steve’s ability to know where consumers and technology will intersect often creates a road paved in gold. That’s why he’ll focus his energy on mobiles.”

“The mobile phone market is almost perfect for Apple strategy. There is no real market leader, and it’s ripe for simplification. Plus it’s worldwide, and engineers from the network operators would be available to do localisation.”

Last argument: The partnership between Apple and Samsung, which “means it is well placed for anything that needs lots of flash memory.” And Samsung yesterday announced the mass production of 16Gb flash memory.
