Scandinavian Airlines punched a great idea to promote their in-flight broadband Internet service. A team of top European video gamers is competing in a WiFi in-flight video gaming exhibition. This was a premiere.
During the show, the gamers faced the top gamers from the U.S. And on landing in New York, all of them participated in the Global Gaming League’s AmeriCup vs. EuroCup competition, which has established prizes totaling more than $100,000.
Using Intel Centrino Duo Technology laptops, the two teams will compete in online games including Counter-Strike, Quake 4 Team Deathmatch, Quake 4 Dual, and Warcraft III.
The high speed Internet service provider is no one else than Boeing itself, which is also featured by competitor airlines like the Lufthansa, Singapore Airlines or Korean Air. Price rates start at $10 an hour.
