It’s logical. The more a media is popular, the more spams and hacks it gets. MessageLabs, a security technology solutions company, forecasts that spams, spoof phone calls, hacked systems will occur at a higher level with more sophisticated methods to get around protection softwares.
“2007 will see VoIP become a prime target for phishing attacks whereby spoof phone calls are made to victims to extract their credit card details or steal their identity using third party software,” says the report.
And if IT administrators are more concerned by network security, they’ll slightly not reconsider Skype as a clean softphone. Recently, for its third edition, Skype-buster company iPoque acknowledges that the new version is harder to detect than previous candidates.
