IBM to start real chat in ads

IBM will run a pair of ads of a new kind. The two-way ads, you listen and you speak, simultaneously, in short: You chat to IBM.

IBM’s will target online prospects in the small and medium business market segment. Avivocom develops them, combining video, VoIP and text chat, as they already do through their LiveGuide and LiveBanner. The former is the overall platform, offering one-way video, two-way VoIP audio, and two-way text chat online. LiveBanner takes the same product set and inserts it within an ad unit, reports ClickZ.

The IBM’s move will undoubtedly boost the click-to-call concept that eBay and Google are testing and developing, without getting much satisfying results.
