First an audio player and then an IP phone

The Boxon is just another MP3 player. It has nothing extraordinary compared to others, but Korea-based Hyunwon which manufactures it, embeds a VoIP telephony system into the tiny device. When you can plug it to an Internet-connected PC, you can talk for free although we don’t know the name of bundled software.

What is interesting to note is that Boxon belongs to this new generation of “underground VoIP telephones”. Phones that at first intention, don’t intend to replace your cellphone nor your WiFi phone, and that come with a set of “who-knows” functionalities ready to work on a shared computer.
