Google blog hacked this weekend

Google canceling the Click-to-Call program? You must be kidding, and that’s right. Google was “kidding”, and according to the company, the post published on Google’s blog is nothing but a hoax.
To sum it up: On last Saturday, a short post made of three assertions announced that Google would stop its Click-to-Call program. Quite immediately, the word was spreading on GigaOM, on Techcrunch and a bunch of other blogs, following the Long Tail principle. The question was obvious: Why on earth Google would cancel this program as it inked a deal with eBay last August to promote it worldwide?
Today, the Google blog team corrected the assertion:
A bug in Blogger enabled an unauthorized user to make a fake post on the Google Blog last night, claiming that we’ve discontinued our AdWords click-to-call test. The bug was fixed quickly and the post removed. As for the click-to-call test, it is progressing on schedule, and we’re pleased with the results thus far.
Anyway, this will give a little bump in the Google already considerable buzz. Will this spark some more interest in the Google/eBay Click-to-call program? Will this decrease the credibility of Google announcement on its blog? What do you think?
