He could be George Clooney. Single, 39, smart, witty, beautiful eyes, looking for friends, able to turn on the charm and become romantic. Well, the kind of guy that can handle a fierce discussion on basketball and afterwards, dissect on the resurrection of Nietzsche.
But his name is George. Only George.
And George is a piece of software. Not every software, the best chatbot on the Internet, that just grabbed the Loebner prize in Britain. For those who don’t know this competition, it is based on the Turing test. You fire a set of questions of your own to a chat pal, through an interface as in an IM window, and at the end of the conversation, you decide if your chatting pal is a computer or not.
“All that he knows, he has accumulated in some 10 million conversations online, and he has not forgotten a single word,” reports AFP. That sure gives a certain advantage to other chat bot. You can talk to him here.
