Free SkypeOut calls opened to British users

Ouch! Skype bites again in the landline telecoms. This time, in Great Britain. All Skype British users will be allowed to call for free UK landline phones for the next six months. And freed area includes the Channel Islands, Northern Ireland, and Isle of Man.
Unfortunately, UK users would have to buy at least for £10 (€15/$19) of credits before using participating in the program. And that makes a slightly big difference compared to other Skypefree offers. In North America, SkypeFree implies free calls to mobile phones. In France, the only European country in the SkypeFree program, no fees are required. Is this modification related to the Skype overall revenue growth slowing down?
UPDATE, October 26, 2006 — Skype blogs have finally relayed the announcement. And brings no more details, whatsoever.
